Cantos Lucumí is a Santería songbook presenting 275 Afro-Cuban chants of ancient Yoruba origin, which are traditionally performed in a ceremonial context. The songs are carefully transcribed and notated so that they show the proper relation of the melodic phrase to the clave pattern. The introductory and appendix materials contain clear discussions of the Lucumí song form structure, melodies, pronunciation, and rhythmic patterns; the issues around the "meaning" of the songs; the songs' liturgical order (oro seco, oro cantado, iban baló, and the cierre); the pantheon of orishas and their feast days; Lucumí instrumentation; the rhythms of the batá; and tempo requirements for the music.It also includes a useful a glossary of terms.
The text is organized orisha by orisha, according to liturgical
order (oro), providing, in many cases, as many as 30 to 40 songs
for each orisha.

que presenta 275 cantos afrocubanos de antigua trascendencia Yorubá,
que tradicionalmente son contados dentro del contexto ceremonial. Las
canciones son cuidadosamente escrito y notado para que se enseñe
