Ceramic Vessels for Palo Monte / Cazuelas de Barro para Palo Monte

These beautiful pots are hand made. Each spirit, or mpungu, of the Palo pantheon has a special “sign” that is traced on its sacred objects. Francisco combines them with the spirit’s symbols, which may be borrowed, in part, from the Lucumí orishas. The signs and the symbols are sculpted in high bas-relief and exquisitely painted.

Estas cazuelas lindas se hacen por mano. Cada espíritu, o mpungu tiene su “firma” que se dibuja por sus objetos sagrados. El artista mezcla estas firmas con los símbolos, unos de los cuales se toman de los orishas Lucumíes. Las firmas y los símbolos se tallan en relieve alto y son pintadas muy lindas.
