Isue with Sese
$140.
Isunekue does not normally wear an íreme costume. He is the guardian of the sacred plumed sese drum, which represents Sikán. He emerges from the sacred temple at the head of a procession of dignitaries “dancing” this “symbolic” drum, which does not sound, but embodies Sikán’s spirit, as well as that of Lord Tanze, the sacred fish of Abakuá myth. Tanze, who bellows like a leopard, is the reincarnation of an ancient Leopard Society King, some say. Others say he was a worldly manifestation of God.
