J. Arrencivia (apprentice of the late Cosme Guio), Los Ibeyi ("The Twins"), articulated figures of hand carved wood, nails, and elastic cord, each 8 1/4" tall (can be adjusted to various positions), Havana, 2000. These twin figures, the "children" of Chango, are produced in the tradition of pre- twentieth century articulated figures, found in "folk art" throughout the world. The figures accompany the secrets of the Ibeyi, which are received as an adimu (auxiliary) orishas, according to the requirements of a priest's particular "path."
