Otura divines with
the coconuts (obí) to verify if Olokun is satisfied with the
ceremony’s preparations. The rock designated as an Eshú
and Omí Saidé’s Olokun pot are clearly seen. Valera,
a babalawo of 37 years in Ifá at that time, had learned ceremonies
of Olokun in the 1970s from his elders in Havana, including the
guardian of the masks of Olokun, and (Ogunda
Biodé) of the Tata Gaitan Ifá lineage.
